After watching all the films nominated for the Oscars 2011, I felt the urge to draw some realistic pictures of my favorite movies. One of them was Black Swan, an intriguing and psychotic work of art. The Oscar-winning performance of Natalie Portman is beyond words. Natalie Portman was so impressive in Black Swan that I simply had to draw her

To start with this drawing I simply referred the two most common promotional pictures of this film - One for the white swan(http://www.impawards.com/2010/posters/black_swan_ver7.jpg) and second for the black swan(http://www.monsterchildren.com/assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth491-Black-Swan-natalie-portman-17392128-2560-1707.jpg).

I started with the white swan first then background and ended up while making black swan. I'm happy with the picture because it gives a great contrast between the dark and light areas.

Initially I thought this would take me merely a day or two but I ended up drawing for about 15 hours. At least now I'm pleased with the result. But camera screwed the white swan colors and for that I am not at all happy.

I used pencil colors to portray white swan and graphite to make background and black swan.
Hope you like it :)

Well what can i say about her. I think she was the first pop singer whose songs I love to hear. "I am with You","Complicated" and "Losing grip" been my favorite songs of that time.
This was my first attempt in drawing a face of a celebrity with pencil colors. I completed drawing her sketch with an ease listening her songs. I found her hairs a little difficult to color. Firstly because I wasn't having the particular shade matching her hairs color but somehow I managed by mixing strokes of yellow and brown color but still I didn't find it perfectly sketched.
After coloring her hairs I got struck thinking about the background. At first I thought to keep it blank just putting a little color around her. But again I thought to make the background using Beehive pattern(another experiment). I started with the pattern but then I got bored as I wasn't getting what I wanted because of lack of color quality. So I kept the remaining part with the simple color.
All in all I enjoyed drawing her and making somebody's portrait with color. It was fun and experimental too. :P

Material Used:  Color Pencils, Eraser, Tissue for blending, A4 cartridge Sheet.

Mostly because Twilight was all around and it was very hard not to draw something from this movie those days. I enjoyed watching this movie but it is not my favourite movie ever. It was very spectacular to watch a vampire(Edward)  glittering in the sunlight :P
I listened to the soundtrack of Twilight while sketching it which made me to complete it with an ease.
So, this is for those people who are the big fan of Twilight.

Overall I am happy with it. I took around 5 hours to complete at that time.

Material Used - Charcoal Pencils
